As well as our 24vDC range of motors we also offer 220vAC motors for direct mains power connection, removing the need for a power transformer (motor driver unit).
Installation to your roll-up side ventilation screen is carried out in exactly the same way, but the power supply comes directly from the control panel rather than via a power transformer thus reducing costs. Each controller can operate two motors, making them ideal for polytunnels with two roll-up ventilation screens. Also used to operate rack & pinion vents.
Easily installed to existing roll-up side ventilation screens by attaching the motor’s drive shaft on to the end of the existing drive tube using the couplings provided. Alternative coupling sizes can be supplied. The motor is supported on a vertical support tube using a roller guide carriage, or attached directly on to a pivoting telescopic arm.
The controller works on a temperature basis by taking a temperature reading from a sensor on a 20m lead. When the inside temperature reaches a predetermined point (say 20°C) the motors starts to roll-up the ventilation screen. This can be carried out in small pre-set increments with an adjustable dwell time between each increment, thereby preventing big swings in temperature. So rather than fully opening and closing, the motors slowly creeps up and down maintaining a harmonious inside temperature.
