We’ve just passed a milestone that means a great deal to us at Northern Polytunnels: 1,000 reviews on Trustpilot.

On paper, it’s just a number. But behind it are a thousand individual experiences. A thousand customers who took the time to share something about what it’s like to build with us, grow with us, and rely on our structures in all conditions.

Some of those reviews come from first-time growers putting up their very first tunnel. Others are from seasoned commercial growers who depend on their setup day in, day out. Some mention the build process, some the service, and many simply reflect on how their tunnel has stood up to the British weather – storm after storm, season after season.

That’s what makes this milestone feel significant. It isn’t manufactured. It hasn’t appeared overnight. It’s been built gradually, in the same way our reputation has always grown: through real customers, real use, and honest feedback.

For a long time, reviews weren’t something we actively pursued. Like many long-established manufacturers, we relied on word of mouth, returning customers, and a reputation that travelled through growers, communities, and recommendations. The focus was always on the product itself – engineering structures that last, supporting customers properly, and letting that speak for itself.

But the way people make decisions has changed. When someone is investing in a polytunnel, they don’t just want to hear from the manufacturer – they want reassurance from people who’ve already done it. They want to know how it performs in the wind, how straightforward it is to build, and whether it truly holds up over time.

So more recently, we’ve made a conscious effort to invite that feedback. Not to shape it, filter it, or script it – but simply to make it easier for customers to share their experiences if they want to.

And what’s come back has been consistent.

Customers talk about structures still standing after multiple storms. About replacing older timber-framed tunnels with something that feels more permanent. About builds that are simpler than expected, and support that’s there when it’s needed.

We read every review. Not just the glowing ones, but the constructive ones too. Because every review matters. They all help us refine what we do and ensure that the next customer has an even better experience.

Reaching 1,000 reviews doesn’t change how we operate – but it does give us a moment to pause and recognise what that number represents. Not just growth, but trust.

So if you’ve taken the time to leave a review – thank you. If you’ve built one of our tunnels, recommended us, or simply followed along with what we do, you’ve played a part in getting us here.

And if you’re considering your own build, those 1,000 reviews are there for a reason. They’re not marketing copy. They’re the closest thing to standing in someone else’s tunnel and hearing what they think of it.

We’re proud of that.

Now, on to the next 1,000 🌱
