Remembering Peter Wolfenden, 1935–2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Wolfenden, aged 91, a longstanding figure in the horticultural industry.
Peter founded LBS in Lancashire in 1969, initially operating from a poultry cabin on his farm following inspiration from a visit to the Great Yorkshire Show. From these modest beginnings, Peter developed the business over many years, later acquiring Northern Polytunnels and establishing the foundations for the businesses we know today.
Throughout his long career in horticulture, Peter worked with generations of customers, growers, suppliers and colleagues, many of whom will remember him personally.
Peter will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those who knew him. His vision, dedication and contribution to the horticultural industry leave a lasting legacy that will continue for many years to come.
