Description
Shade Halls & Shade Tunnels
Working closely with commercial growers we are able to design and manufacture state of the art permanent polytunnel shade halls to suit their requirements. Made from the finest commercial materials all our shade halls provide semi-shading, protection from direct sunlight and allow free air circulation creating optimum growing conditions.
Using a grid layout we are able to construct made to measure shade halls that enable excellent accessibility and maximises the use of the floor area. All our structures are designed to withstand the wear and tear of the commercial sector.
SHADE HALLS
The flat tape design and heavy-duty construction of Paraweb makes our shade halls suitable for the UK climate and areas with heavy snowfall.
The structure is based on a grid layout, its economical design allows excellent accessibility and full use of the floor area.
40-45% Shade Paraweb roof and 40% Shade Netting sides (knitted polythene mono-filament) allows free air circulation, but provides shelter from strong winds, preventing damage to plants.
- 3.75m x 3.75m sections
- 2.70m height
- 50mm MAGNAtube® pre-galvanised steel tubing
- Choice of doors (0.89m wide x 2.55m high) or clear sections for access
Hardy trees, shrubs and vines, including azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons and tree ferns are not always suited to the growing environment a polytunnel provides. Shade Halls provide semi-shading and protection from direct sunlight, which is essential for nursery stock at various levels of growth.
The shade halls are manufactured from 50mm (2”) diameter, MG35 high tensile pre-galvanised steel tubing. The structure is based on a grid layout, with each section of the grid measuring 3.75m x 3.75m, and the overall height being approximately 2.7m. Ideal for creating irregular-shaped structures.
This economic design of the shade house allows excellent accessibility and full use of the floor area. The roof of the shade hall is clad with Paraweb. This heavy duty material gives 40-45% shade. Crucially, the flat tape design of Paraweb allow the straps to tip to either side when loaded with snow, making this flat roof design suitable for the UK climate especially in high snow fall regions.
The sides of the shade house are clad with 40% shade netting, which is manufactured from a knitted polyethyene monofilament. Clear sections can be left for access, alternatively doors are available with the structure, each measuring 0.89m wide x 2.55m high. Both of these materials allow free air circulation, but provide shelter from strong winds, which could otherwise cause damage to plants.
SHADE TUNNELS
Made using our durable Polytunnel framework, typically clad with shade netting rather than polythene.
Flexible structures that can be part clad with polythene and a variety of netting options.
Shade tunnels offer a lower cost alternative to our shade halls.
- Can be clad with a mixture of netting and polythene
- Various netting options: 40-45% shade netting, anti-bird, insect or butterfly.
- MAGNAtube® pre-galvanised steel hoops
