We recently had the pleasure of teaming up with Jamie Walton, better known as Nettles & Petals, to help bring a brand-new community garden project to life in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

Jamie’s mission is something we’re proud to stand behind. His work champions ecological growing, food equity, and a reimagining of what a healthy, inclusive growing space can look like. The new site is being developed as a community hub where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can connect through sustainable food production and environmental learning.

To support the project, we supplied and helped install an EasyBuild polytunnel, designed using our online configurator and built on-site as a joint effort between us and Jamie himself. It’s a perfect example of how these tunnels can serve not just individual growers, but whole communities.

Our EasyBuild range is designed to be accessible to all kinds of gardeners, and we loved seeing that ethos come to life in such a meaningful project. With its robust structure and simple setup, the tunnel will be central to growing fresh, organic produce all year round, while also offering protection and flexibility as the site evolves.

The garden is still in its early stages, and Jamie is calling out for support in all forms, whether it’s time, tools, materials, or creative help with branding and videography. If you’d like to get involved or follow the progress, you can find him on Instagram at @nettlesandpetals.

We’re really proud to play a small part in something that puts community, education, and ecology at the heart of growing. And we can’t wait to see what the space becomes.

Installed at the heart of the new community garden: a 4m x 19.5m EasyBuild polytunnel, complete with screw anchors, side vents along both sides, a double aluminium sliding door at the front, a single sliding door at the rear, and a diffused polythene cover for gentle, even light.
